Bauxite resource is one of the minerals of the ongoing evaluation of the nationalmineral resources potential predictions project. The bauxite distribution is in westernShandong Province, like North China Craton, the same type of bauxite mineralizationwas strictly controlled by the sedimentary strata. It was divided into two layer: theCarboniferous Benxi Formation G layer bauxite and Permian Shihezi Formation B layerbauxite, and major industrial deposits was occurred in G layer bauxite. By analying thefactors controlling the bauxite resource formation, the most important factors arepalaeogeography, depositional environment, sedimentary facies in Shandong Province,the bauxite tectonic lithofacies paleogeographic map and the deposition of theconstruction of the structural map are drawn up and as a base map of the prediction.Based on lithofacies palaeogeography, the G layer bauxite is represented by Hutiantype, the B layer bauxite represented by Wangcun type.The typical metallogenic model,the regional metallogenic model, the typical deposit prediction model, and the regionalprediction model, and the table of prediction factors are constructed respectively.According to the Uniform format required by the project management office, the MRASsoftware on MAPGIS was used in this paper, and the delineation of the predictedtarget area was realized, and the amount of resources was estimated, and differentaspects of systems analysis was done to predict the amount of resources. The mainresults achieved in this paper are:Firstly, this paper deeply analyzes of bauxite-forming geological environment ofShandong Province, and draws up the map of bauxite tectonic lithofaciespalaeogeography construction of Shandong Province, and it was the latest data for thepresent and the most complete map.Secondly, it was the first time to completely predict the bauxite resources inShandong Province by the metallogenic series theory of Academician Chen Yuchuan.The bauxite of Shandong Province was divided into two deposit-type:the Hutian typeand the Wangcun type, and it was a detailed study of typical deposit,this paper hascreated the typical metallogenic model and mineral prediction model, and determinedthe seven prediction districts.Thirdly, By quantitative prediction according to the distribution characteristics of thebauxite deposits in Shandong Province. A total of24prediction target areas aredetermined, including13G-layer bauxite of the Carboniferous Benxi Formation and11B layer bauxite of Permian Shihezi Formation. Estimated that a total of*****thousandtons of bauxite resources would be got, which including*****thousand tons G layerbauxite and*****thousand tons B layer bauxite. According to the standard published by the National Mineral Resource Potential Evaluation of Projects Office,*****thousandtons of (334-1) resource;*****thousand tons (334-2) resource;*****thousand tons(334-3) resource.Finally, this paper systematically analyzes the predicted amount of the bauxiteresources in many ways such like in the precision, depth, deposit type, availablecategories, reliability, and development prospects, which greatly improved thepredictive usefulness and credibility of the bauxite resources.
