Guangdong is a province with abundant geothermal energy, hot springs can befound almost in each county. The New Conghua Hot Spring area is located atTangliang village near Liangkou town of Conghua City, Guangzhou; the workingplace is about25km from central Conghua, and90km from central Guangzhou.Theworking place is about30km2which exists along both sides of Liuxi River; it startsfrom Luoxi hole in the west, Tangwei village in the east, Yinghao School in the northand Gaosha village committeexian in the south. There are14geothermal wells in theplace which are located at Tangliao village Liangkou town.The major strata exposed in the working place is The Quaternary alluvium whichexist along both sides of Liuxi river, other stratas are Shidengzi group in thecarboniferous and Ceshui group which exist in a few places. The intrusive igneousrock is the major rock in the place which is a part of the Fugang batholith.Thelithology of the intrusion rock is primarily acidic magmatic rock; others are alkalinerocks and basic rocks. There are a few stratums and no fold in the working place, themajor geologic structure is fracture structure. According to the geologic survey we didnearly, there are small and large fractures which are dissected each other. The majorfractures existed in the working place are the NE, NNE, NW trending fractures, andthe NE trending fractures are the most fractures.The main aquifer systems in theworking place are pore water in the Quaternary alluvium, karst water in theCarboniferous, crevice water in the geologic structure and the intrusive rock.The major cations in the geothermal water are K+、Na+and Ca2+,and the majoranions are HCO3-、F-. Hydrochemical types of groundwater in the study area areHCO3-Na.Then we can calculate the age of the groundwater, the temperature of thereservoir, the supplies elevation and the depth of geothermal water circle. Theresulting data: the age of the groundwater is about40years, the temperature of thereservoir is between80.38℃and86.12℃, the supplies elevation is about533mabove sea level and the depth of geothermal water circle is between1483m and1626m from the surface.On the basis of method in DZ40-85<the evaluation methodology of geothermalresources>, we can calculate the QCand the QWby the reservoir formula, and thetotal geothermal resources is the sum of the QCand the QW. Finally, the totalgeothermal resources is about2.817×1016J after calculation.The geothermal water in the working place is rich in F-(1.26-12mg/l)、Rn222(2.8-63.2Bq/l)、H2SiO3(79.3-97.6mg/l)and others which is good for human’shealth. So the geothermal water is available in medical treatment and it is fit fortraveling, medical treatment and greenhouse.
