Assembling energy blasting is an engineering blasting technology using the energy cumulative effect caused by the shaped charge explosive exploding to destroy the target. The energy cumulative effect could occur when detonation waves impacted, or the explosion happened which the special charge structure was arranged in advance. There are some characteristics of assembling energy blasting technology, such as the explosion energy is focused in a special area, the direction of blasting is stable and the destruction ability is strong. The application of assembling energy blasting technology in engineering could save the cost of the project, reduce the labor intensity and improve the construction efficiency.There are two kinds of charging structures in assembling energy blasting technology, one is with an explosive forming pellet, the other is not. During the civil blasting engineering field, the charging structure without an explosive forming pellet is widely used. Linear charging structure with a slot is a common charging way. In the charging process, the working of the slot is the main part costing the time and the money. There is also another charging method without a slot. It is the detonation wave assembling energy blasting charging method, which could simplify the process steps, reduce cost and improve the economic benefits. The detonation wave assembling energy blasting technology has a good industrial application prospect.In this paper, the theory research of the assembling energy effect caused by detonation waves collision has been done. According to the relevant detonation physics and detonation wave theories, the experimental research on the corresponding initiating project has been done. In the engineering blasting field, three properties of shaped charge are important. They are the direction of the blasting, the fracture ability and the rock fragmentation ability. To study these three properties, three groups of experiments were designed to assess the explosion ability and the industrial application value. The experimental results showed that the rock fragmentation ability of detonation wave assembling energy blasting technology is good. There is a bright industrial application prospect, and this technology application is worth to be promoted in engineering.
