With the development of manufacturing and the increase of consumers'demands, the global economy is changing into the service economy. And the boundary between the service industry and manufacturing is increasingly obscure. The proportion of manufacturing is declining, while that of service is rising. Following this trend,many large-scale traditional manufacturing enterprises began to transfer to service industry, and service industry became a new growth point and locality of profit,which can also creates sustainable competitive advantage for these enterprise.As the industry which has the closest connection with information technology in manufacturing, computer manufacturing is playing a more and more important role in the world economy growth. With the quick development of industrialization and informationization, the computer hardware products update rapidly and the computer manufacturers have tired of the price war. If these enterprises are eager to gain the competitive advantage and create a new profit point,they must concern about the whole value chain, especially service which is direct-to-consumer part of the chain, and gradually realize the transformation from product-oriented to service-oriented.In the background of manufacturing servitization, this thesis begins with the trend and intension of computer manufacturing servitization. Firstly, the inevitability of the trend is discussed from the theoretical point of view. Secondly, the servitization transformations of those famous foreign computer manufacturing enterprises are analyzed, such as IBM, HP, DELL, and the thesis summarizes their successful experiences. Thirdly, after introducing the development and current situation of Chinese computer manufacturing, the thesis finds the trend of servitization and uses statistic data to analyze the trend of input servitization and output servitization. The thesis further analyzes the servitization transformation of Lenovo. Finally, combining with the transformation experience of foreign computer manufacturing and the transformation status quo of Chinese computer manufacturing, the thesis builds the model of the transformation of Chinese computer manufacturing servitization form the aspects of the construction of the value chain of computer manufacturing servitization,merger and acquisition of enterprises and the customer-focus service philosophy.
