Study On The Medical Insurance Of Migrant Worker In Shanxi Province

In China, Migrant worker is a special group emerged from planned economy to marketeconomy. They are the labor forces who moved from rural into urban in order to guarantee theirsurvival and development, and they act as a new force for China's urban construction. With theimprovement of urbanization, the cities demand so many migrant workers that their team expandsceaselessly.In recent years, migrant workers try their best to work hard in every corner of the city,maintaining the normal operation of the city. They made a significant contribution to the history ofurban construction for our country, and promoted the pace of urbanization and industrializationeffectively. However, migrant workers made such a contribution to the country, but they are still inthe bottom of society, health right can't be guaranteed. Shanxi as a coal province, more than half ofmigrant workers work in the mine mining, building and construction industries, so their healthproblems are more outstanding. These industries are full of noise, dust and other pollution, whichare easy to harm migrant workers' physical. We can see that migrant workers demand medicalinsurance urgently. What's more, mine owners and other business owners usually neglected migrantworkers' safe training and protection, causing all sorts of diseases frequently. That corresponds withit; the migrant workers' income situation and the industry characteristics are not adapt to themedical insurance system.Currently, in our country, the medical contains the basic medical insurance for urban workers,medical insurance for urban residents and the new rural cooperative medical system. Three kinds ofmedical insurance systems have involved on medical insurance of migrant workers, but as thecharacteristics of the migrant workers and the health insurance system are not clearly, this group hasbeen away from the edge of the medical insurance system.In this article, first of all, the author defines the concept of migrant workers and medicalinsurance. Secondly, through analyzing migrant worker' distribution situation in Shanxi province,pointing out that their healthy status is not good. Thirdly, Shanxi province migrant workers' medicalinsurance system exits lots of problems, if we want to solve these problems completely, we mustbalance three parts just as the state, the enterprises and of migrant workers, using all parts of power,and linking the household register, and employment and land system together.
