The time of the Republic of China is an important period in which the tourism of our country developed from a connect link between what came before and what gone after. It is also an initial step of modern tourist industry of our country. In Sichuan region of this period, tourism communications developed day by day, and travel agencies and hotels became more and more. That formed the sprout of modern tourism. Tourism To Sichuan Province shows the double characters—traditional and modern. Based of the analysis of a mass of history materials, this thesis tries to use some correlative theories of tourism to research on tourism to Sichuan Province in the Republic of China from the view of the tourists. The whole thesis contains five parts.The first part is an overview of the thesis which includes the significance of this issue, the research approach, the theoretical basis and the innovations.The second part introduces the background of tourism to Sichuan Province in the Republic of China which includes two sides—the development situation of the tourism in our country and Sichuan Provincial Conditions at that time.The third part analyzes the development conditions of tourism to Sichuan Province in the Republic of China from six factors—the tourism resources, the tourist communications, the tourist lodging, the tourist catering and the tourist recreations. The fourth part discusses the attribute of the contents of tourism to Sichuan Province in the Republic of China by analyzing the main scenery spots, such as the Mount Emei, the Mount Qingcheng and the historical interests in Chengdu plain. And so we can draw the conclusion that"the tourist activities of Sichuan are mostly about landscape and famous historical sites".The fifth part researches on tourists to Sichuan at that time. That is, it researches on the influence on tourists to Sichuan by the tourist activities, the made-up of the tourists and the impact of different groups.Tourism to Sichuan Province in the Republic of China not only inherits features of traditional tourism of China, but also emerges the features of modern tourism. Owing to the special geographical position, the economic development of Sichuan Province in the Republic of China is far from southeast coast of China. Together with the successive years of tangled warfare among warlords, tourists to Sichuan at that time were limited to a special class and so the tourism became"minority tourism".
