The Research Of China Participating In The Panama-Pacific International Exposition

This article is divided into four chapters. The first Chapter briefly describes the background of the Panama-Pacific Exposition which China participated in1915. Reviews of the course of the late Qing Dynasty participated in the International Fairs and the people's understanding to the Expo; introduces the government of the People's Republic of China attached importance to the development of Industrial and normed fair activities; Introduced the status of preparations for the Panama-Pacific Exposition in USA. Through a brief introduction, it would be inevitable that China participated in Expo.The second chapter focuses on the status of preparation of domestic of China. The government of Beijing attached great importance to participate in Expo of USA. In order to do well, government specially set up the preparation of the Panama tournament Office to guide the preparatory work. Set clear goal, formulated the rules and regulations, standtarded exhibits solicitation, instructed government departments to produced, urged the provinces to set up the Publisher Association to call for exhibits, Finally,the government succeeded in collecting many of the exhibits.The third chapter focuses on describing the situation of the China in the exhibition. In order to ensure the participation effect, China had set up Supervision Department to manage Chinese personnel, arrangement Exhibition task and handle emergency situations; Introduces the display status of the Chinese exhibits and people's comments, describes the activities of Chinese judges in the awards process; Introduction the national contacts of people, such as the behavior of national exchanges and resisted the humiliation in the field, and the China Industrial Mission carried out citizen diplomacy out of the field. Because of their efforts, China exhibited a large number of medals, the behaviors of vilify China had been effectively stopped, and the relationships between all countries, especially the USA, were deepen.The forth Chapter is designed to evaluate the activities of China participate in Expo. It was a great success, which helped to change the outlook of the corruption and backwardness that late Qing Dynasty left to the foreigners, created a good image of the People's Republic of China, to some extent,changed the evaluation of foreigners on the Chinese people and Chinese goods, win the honor and trade opportunities for Chinese goods; The whole process of tournament exposed various problems, which let people pay more attentions and provide lessons for future competition.All in all, the reasons why The People's Republic of China achieved success were that the development of the economy, the Government's attention, efforts of exhibitors. The exhibition activities had left an indelible mark in Expo history of China.
