Nowadays, supply chain management has been recognizing the lean strategy to achieve JIT response. But on the other hand, the ultimate importance and challenges of dealing with uncertainty, risk, and vulnerability in supply chains made the issues main focus for both supply chain management researchers and practitioners in the global business environment. Moreover, in supply chain risk management, the methods of studying and constructing the supply chain risk identification and the quantitative model of supply chain risk assessment are not only the most basic and the most important part of the theoretical foundation, but also a great practical value field. Through literature review, the dissertation focuses on the supply chain risk analysis and assessment based on the identification theory and newsvendor model. Major result and innovations in this dissertation are as stated below: First, offer a new viewpoint that the supply chain risk is of a trade-off property weighing costs and benefits. Second, newsvendor is a mathematic model of trade-off, and can build a trade-off analysis framework. Third, propose a case study, and explain the parameters in practice in the model; reach a conclusion that newsvendor model is suitable to assess supply chain risk with thorough consideration of risks, costs and benefits. |
