Continuous review and periodic review JIT inventory model has been used in many industries and areas in view of its important theoretical significance and application value, and many scholars have also carried out a great deal of research on the problem and its extension models. Most of the researches on the JIT inventory model involving backorder were developed for random demand. However, in practical situations, the demand for one commodity is variable and determinate because of large numbers of independent customers and different preference of buyers, especially, in the case that the data of demand is uncertainty and missing. This determinate is usually expressed for uncertainty of random and fuzzy in coexist. Therefore, the use of fuzzy random and random fuzzy model to describe the JIT inventory system involving backorder is more realistic.By using the theory of fuzzy math, this paper investigated the JIT inventory system involving backorder, on the basis that the lead time demand is fuzzy random and random fuzzy variable, developed continuous review and periodic review JIT inventory model, explored the making of optimal quantity and lead time. The main focuses and innovations of this paper are summarized as follows:1. Described the uncertainty of unit time demand as fuzzy random variable in continuous review and periodic review JIT inventory model involving backorder, applied the hybrid intelligent algorithm containing fuzzy simulation,NN and genetic algorithm to explore the making of optimal quantity and lead time, provided some decision information for decision-maker.2. In inventory management, the total demand distribution parameter is often subjectively estimated by manager's experience. This paper described the total demand distribution parameter as a fuzzy variable, namely, unit time demand was described as random fuzzy variable in continuous review and periodic review JIT inventory model, it made up the pity that random fuzzy variable was not used in this problem.3. In the periodic review JIT inventory model, the backorder rate was viewed as a function of shortages quantity and was influenced by the protection interval. This study filled the gaps in the research field that the backorder rate was always viewed as a given parameter.4. The information of lead time demand distribution information is very limited for strong competition and different customer's preference. It is very difficult to know the exact probability distribution, only know first and second moments. Therefore, this paper also studied the making of optimal quantity and lead time in the case that the first and second moments of the probability distribution of lead time demand to be known and finite.
