| With the growing up of chinese popular traveling and the change of people's consumption concept, a new kind of hotel-----economical hotels have appeared in China since the 1990s, and they have yielded unusually brilliant results in hotel market. After several years' rapid expansion, chinese economical hotels are shifting from big cities to medium and small cities. As a small-medium city located in the north of Jiangsu Province, Yancheng city has welcomed a new round of expansion of economical hotels, just like the other small-medium cities in China. Since 2007, more than ten nationwide-known hotels have entered Yancheng, and the local economical hotels have also turned up to compete. Yancheng's economical hotels are growing up, however, they have come across some problems, such as product similarity, weak marketing, human resource insufficience and lack of industry management. Economical hotels in Yancheng, compared with those in first-tier cities and other central cities, have their own advantages and opportunities, but also some disadvantages and challenges. The key points of the development of Yancheng's economical hotels in the future are how to give play to their strength and make up for their deficiency, and how to do better work in market subdividing, product optimizing, marketing strategies, human resources and so on. |
