PPAS Software Company, which is the world's largest software company of enterprise management and collaborative e-business solutions, is a typical knowledge-intensive enterprise, and its core knowledge assets are software products, services, solutions and its knowledge-based global 53000 employee. PPAS's knowledge assets, covering a wide range, include industry knowledge getting from serving 10 million customers in 120 countries in the past over thirty years, customer requests based software products/services/industry solutions, and accumulated implementation experience and knowledge for these projects and services together with partners, in which tacit knowledge occupy a large proportion.With the business rapid growth of employee, product and customer in the last three decades, the accumulation of knowledge grew tremendous, the urgency and difficulty of knowledge management increased rapidly. No one of PPAS questioned the company's most valuable wealth is knowledge and knowledge management is the key to sustain and improve the competitiveness of enterprises, but the indisputable fact is knowledge management lag behind the business growth of enterprises.This paper analyzes the necessity and urgency of enterprises in knowledge economy age. Based on the theory of knowledge management, the guiding ideology, the knowledge management status and issue of PPAS, the employee interviews, and the employee surveys this paper design PPAS knowledge management improvement solution and propose implementation steps of pilot-lessons learned-roll out, which achieved initial positive feedback.The author clearly aware of, for such a large company, knowledge management is not possible to be done in a short time; instead, continuous improvement principle should be followed. For organizational adjustment, corporate culture building and other long-term issues, the study needs further research and continuous improvement during the knowledge management program implementation.
