A Study Of Pre-entrepreneurship Behavior Model

The focus of entrepreneurship research has been shifted from entrepreneurship trait and entrepreneurial spirit to discovery of entrepreneurship behavior pattern. Studies of entrepreneurship behavior's unique distinction, which help to discover entrepreneurial motives, are replacing studies of entrepreneurship trait. However, constructs and models in this area are somehow not clarified, and often overlap with each other. Though researchers have com up with various theory models, they're scattered and without any academically unified standards. This paper proposes a unified theory model of pre-entrepreneurship behavior, trying to explore the introspective psychological issues in this area. Thus we can better understand the dynamics in entrepreneurship motives.Using normative research method, this paper defined the pre-entrepreneurship stage, clarified the relationship between it and the classic new venture creation models and identified its key research topics. Based on the previous founding in entrepreneurial cognition and entrepreneurial intention, this paper constructed a theory model of pre-entrepreneurship behavior, described the pre-entrepreneurship behavior in a dynamic perspective, instead of pure static analysis. Our study did further research on different patterns by different types of entrepreneurship, exploring the impact imposed by individual factors. Finally, we selected typical cases for both necessity entrepreneurship and opportunity entrepreneurship and carried out a case study to further exam our model.
