Since the 1970s China and the EU established diplomatic relations, China and the EU began a long-term trade relation. In all Western trade partners, Sino-EU trade partnership is more stable and mature. After thirty years of joint efforts of the two sides, Sino-EU trade partnership trading partnership is becoming more and more important. In addition to trade cooperation, China and EU's cooperation has extended to the climate, disease control, education and other projects; the cooperation is quite influential to the global economy. Comprehensive, wide-area, multi-level cooperation has established. Looking back to several decades, although sometimes there are differences, but both sides take efforts toward a win-win situation. Sino-EU trade volume is increasing year by year, trade between the two sides maintained good growth trends. However, China's trade surplus with the EU also has expanded year by year, brought a lot of negative impact to the bilateral trade, including more and more trade frictions and disputes, the EU's trade barriers are increasingly reinforced and the trend is not conducive to the further development of bilateral trade, this issue must arouse our attention.I begin with the current Sino-EU trade imbalance situation and trends, differences of trade structure of both sides, and then the Sino-EU trade imbalance analysis. In the first chapter, is the research about the trade imbalance by domestic and foreign scholars, especially about Sino-EU trade imbalance. The second chapter begins with a list of current Sino-EU trade status, and point out that the trade surplus is growing. Compared with Sino-US, Sino-Japanese trade, one significant characteristic in Sino-EU trade is that China's trade with the EU is conducted in two levels, both cooperation with the EU overall also with EU member states. This special two-level cooperation's impacts on imports and exports are not the same. On the whole, there are positive impacts, but there are many drawbacks. The third chapter is the detailed analysis of the reasons for Sino-EU trade imbalance, from China and the EU's trade structure, consumer demand in China and the EU comparison, the EU's eastward expansion, the global industrial transfer, statistical differences between China and the EU, EU markets other aspects of openness to analyze what causes this huge surplus. The analysis is mainly divided into two aspects, the internal causes and external causes. Internal causes are, trade structure difference, market demand unmatched, different standards on statistical methods, coupled with EU restrictions on exports to China; external reason is the international background such as the EU enlargement and the global industrial transfer. Chapterâ…£is mainly focused on the impact of trade imbalance analysis. The imbalance of China-EU trade should be viewed from both positive and negative aspects:the positive side, the trade surplus could increase our country's foreign exchange reserves, will help enhance the country's comprehensive national strength, help Government to improve macro-control, help to improve the world's confidence in renminbi, effectively solve the problem of domestic labor surplus. On the negative side, such a huge trade surplus has also brought a lot of bad influence, it brings more and more frequent bilateral trade frictions and disputes, the EU's trade barriers reinforcement, and they are not conducive to bilateral further trade development. In the fifth chapter, the author point out that we should be rational in the Sino-EU trade imbalance issue; China and the EU should take appropriate measures to ensure the long-term Sino-EU trade develop toward a healthy way. Finally, the authors concluded that the two sides in the face of the bilateral trade imbalance is to adopt a positive and constructive attitude in order to ensure the healthy and stable bilateral economic and trade relations and orderly development.
