It shows that education is important strategic position on economic and social development in the whole country. Higher education is the highest level education, which kind relationship between economic growth and education in Country or Region attract many scholars'attention.This paper use the relevant data on higher education and economic growth of Guizhou between 1978 and 2009, with the human capital theory and related economic growth theory as theoretical guidance, using error correction model, impulse effect function, variance decomposition etc methods, empirical analysis the real relationship between higher education and economic growth in Guizhou, at last sum up the conclusion and puts forward relevant policy SuggestionsThe content of research is arranged as follow:Firstly, the paper briefly narrates the basic connotation of higher education development and the concept of economic growth and economic development. Briefly summarize the human capital theory and economic growth theory, briefly analyze the theory about higher education development and regional economic growth, which lay a theoretical foundation for empirical research at the rest article; Then, detail analyze Higher the current situation of education development,and economic growth and development in Guizhou, which to provide reference for behind analysis and model conclusion explanation; follow constructed index system about the development of higher education and economic growth, combined with higher education and economic growth relevant 1978-2009 data in Guizhou, using co-integration test, granger causality test, error correction model (ECM), vector auto-regressive (VAR) model, impulsive effect function and variance decomposition etc dynamic time series analysis method to empirical research of the relationship between the development of higher education with economic growth in Guizhou.Through empirical analysis, and get a conclusion that:1. There exists a long-term equilibrium relationship between Higher education development and economic growth in Guizhou. Maybe in the short term, The long-run equilibrium relationship may appear imbalances and fluctuate, but in the long term, it return to long-run equilibrium.2. There are the mutually reinforcing relationship between higher education and economic growth in Guizhou Province, Which means that the development of higher education has promoted economic growth and economic growth has promoted the development of higher education.3. In the short term, the increase of higher education funding in Guizhou can cause economic growth; due to the lagging effect on economic growth, scale expansion of Higher education development may be no significant effect. The improvement of higher education development have certain stimulate effect on improvement on quality of economic growth. The Guizhou economic growth will cause the increase of higher education funding, but will not cause college student number, "student/teacher ratio" increased.In the long run, the funding increase of higher education has not significant effect on Guizhou economic growth does; The scale expansion of the universities is good for economic growth; there may exist economic growth extrusion of quality of higher education development, and the effect is not very significant. Economic growth of Guizhou has steady effect on college funds; Economic growth will improve the quality of higher education and cause e expansion of colleges and universities.4.
