The Services And Construction Of Service-oriented Goverment

Revenue Department is an important sector belonging to government. Meanwhile, taxation service acts as a vital part of state services. Based on the requirements given by the new public management theories, government should adjust its functions to raise work efficiency. Requirements detailed down to the Revenue Department are to transform taxpayers' previous mandatory law enforcement into a service-oriented one, thus realizing the idea of taxation service. However, in our country, this kind of taxation service idea has many deficiencies. Hence, a system of taxation service has to be established under the guidance of new public management ideas. Setting up the system for taxation service should start with the following five aspects:perfecting the taxation service concepts; accelerating the informatization construction of effective tax paying service; formulating common standards and criterion; creating professional service team for in-depth taxation service; and establishing and enhancing the supervision and assessment system.
