Research On Evaluation Of China's Commercial Bank Competitiveness

From the beginning of 2006, China's banking sector open fully, to the end of 2011, China's banking sector has been open for nearly five years.Foreign banks which enjoy full national treatment push into the Chinese banking market. More fierce competition will take place in between Domestic Commercial Banks and Foreign Commercial Banks in business, client and geographical aspects. In August 2007, Subprime mortgage crisis which originated in the U.S. began sweeping the world's major financial markets like U.S., EU and Japan. And then the international financial crisis triggered by the Subprime crisis sweeps the world. It has influences on various countries'banking sectors in various degrees, inevitably affects the international competitiveness of national commercial banks.China's commercial banks face the same challenges, increase the competitiveness of China's commercial banks is imperative. The existing commercial banks, competitiveness evaluation index system does not exist a comprehensive evaluation method is unreasonable, and many other Bureau trap. Therefore, how to scientific evaluation system and method to effectively evaluate the competitiveness of domestic commercial banks, the problem must be studied.Firstly, based on the general theory of enterprise's competitiveness, this paperexplains the basic conception and characteristic of enterprise's competitiveness, makes clear the particularity of the commercial bank's competitiveness and defines its connotation. Summary and conclusion of factors, including the basic resources, capacity factors, environmental factors, competition in three areas of commercial banks force elements. Furthermore, the author makes reviews and simple comments on theanalytical method about the bank's competitiveness by scholars from China andabroad. These have offered theory support for the positive study of ensuing chapters. Then, on basis of referencing the British "Banker" magazine of the evaluation system, this paper designs one set ofevaluating index system which is much more practical and scientific. With AHP method and questionnaire method to determine index weight, for the following empirical analysis provided theoretical support.In the part of positive study, this paper looks 5 state-owned,9 joint-stock commercial banks in our country as research objects, and arranges them in an order by adopting comprehensive analysis, apply the cluster analysis to divide the 14 banks into four categories. And learn from the successful experience of foreign countries, which proposed to enhance the competitiveness of China's commercial banks by optimizeing resources, accelerating development, innovation, and effective monitoring.
