Currently, the competition between enterprises in automotive industry of China is very fierce. In this competition, it seems that the comprehensive strength, technology, cost, quality, service, etc. always come to the first. However, from the perspective of customers, the most important factor is the cost performance, namely its value. Therefore, how to improve the product value is the major matter that vehicle manufacturers need to consider about. In this context, as one of the key members of light commercial vehicle enterprises, JMC is also concentrating on improving product value, which is a significant long-term work that requires continuous improvement.In this paper, the study found that JMC's joint venture partners provided a one-sided value management, which indicated that the selection of targets for reducing and analyzing cost was basically still in the brainstorming level. JMC had not formed a appropriate value management system. As a systematic tool of value management, value engineering played an important role in enhancing the product value as well as the value management standard of JMC. This paper selected JMC car battery as the example to study, exploring the application pattern of value engineering in the JMC.As the results of the actual test of this study, we found it achieved a good economic benefit, and we got a lot of valuable experience at the same time, which provided a starting point for subsequent application of value engineering.
