The Application Research Of Hyperion Planning Information System In Enterprise

Comprehensive budget management, as one kind of enterprise resource management, aims to carry out enterprise strategy, deploy enterprise resource efficiently and promote enterprises'long-term development by overall forecasts of production, investment, cost, cash income and expense etc. As an important part of management control system, comprehensive budget management is widely used by domestic enterprise group already. On one hand, because of insufficient experience in budget management, there are many problems, such as incomplete organization structure, unreasonable budget making and process, unclear responsibility and so on. On the other hand, although lots of enterprises'comprehensive budget management are relatively mature, the application method based on Excel meets new problems in target break-down, budget making, analyzing and control. Therefore, it is necessary to build an information system for budget management. In this paper, the author selects budget information system Hyperion Planning as study object and takes China National Offshore Oil Corporation(CNOOC Ltd.) as an example to explain how to do the system analysis,design and implementation successfully and how the system helps the enterprise to solve the problem in comprehensive budget management.Firstly, this paper discusses the theory of comprehensive budget management and points out the challenges that comprehensive budget management should face based on the tool Excel, then indicates the necessity of information system. Secondly, it analyzes the current information condition of comprehensive budget management and introduces the outstanding representative Hyperion Planning. Thirdly, it introduces the method and process of Hyperion Planning analysis and design by giving an application example, which is the construction of the CNOOC Ltd.'s budget management information system. Finally, it draws a conclusion about contributions and limitations of this paper.The budget theory and technical method used in this article can be widely applied to other enterprise group. The design method based on customer demand and implementation pattern of Hyperion Planning can provide reference for other enterprise groups who will carry out budget management information system later.
