Study Of The Operating Mechanism And Growth Potential Of Global Fair Trade

It is between developed and developing countries that unfair trade issues have had existed for a long time, which have mainly caused poverty and backwardness in the latter one. The Fair Trade Movement began in the late 1940s was committed to change the unfair distribution of traditional trade patterns, so as to the farmer in the developing countries, such as coffee farmers, could get return in fair, increase the incomes as well as living standards, and achieve sustainable development. The Fair Trade's minimum purchase price, community developing funds, long-term contracts, etc, have significant effects on those producers'stable and increasing income, improved living conditions and higher level of production, cooperation and management skills.The Fair Trade develops rapidly, and its influence expands day by day. Since there are some agricultural productive organizations and enterprises in China have also participated in it, discussing several questions on it is necessary. Such as How does the current Fair Trade pattern come out? What kind of construction and operational mechanism that The Fair Trade uses? What's the present situation as well as potency of the Fair Trade? What could we learn from the development of Fair Trade?To deal with the questions above, this paper adopts both qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis to do some systematic analyze on the Fair Trade Organization's evolution, operational mechanism, and the present situation. In addition, this paper also do some quantitative analyses and empirical analysis on its future development potency, especially use the gray system model to forecast potency of the Fair Trade.This paper could be divided into six parts:The 1st chapter is the introduction, mainly explains the background, aim and meaning of the research as well as the frame of this paper; The 2nd chapter makes a summary of both domestic and foreign related researches in the recent years; The 3rd chapter did some systematic combing and analysis of the Fair Trade Organization's developing evolution and the operational mechanism; The 4th chapter did some analysis on the current situation of the FTO, including productive aspect, market aspect, government aspect, and its effects and existence; The 5th chapter use the gray system model to forecast potency of the Fair Trade. The 6th chapter has analyzed the significance of the Fair Trade to China. There are two Innovations in this paper:1. Domestic studies on fair trade are little, and there is no systematic study. this is the first Domestic study Clarifying and analyzing fair trade systematically.2. The studies on the potential of fair trade market are little in the world, this dissertation predict the potential of fair trade using the gray system model for the first time in the world.
