With the fast development of forest resources after the collective forest right system reform, forestry farmers, being the main part of the forestry management, have become the backbone of forestry in China. With the steady development of forestry, enlarging the forestry managing scale, forming moderate scale of forestry, achieving the benefit of scale management of forestry have become the trends of forestry in China. The aspiration of forestry management and the variation of the productivity level of forestry are closely related with the forestry developing trend in the future. Whether the forestry farmers are willing to enlarge their managing scale and achieve the objects of"increasing forestry resources, increasing forestry farmers'income, keeping the ecological balance and forest zone balance"is a main concern. Since the factors that influence the forestry farmers'willing of managing scale are being complicated diversified, and a willing to a great extent can change to a future behavior, only by studying these important factors can we find out the key factors in developing forestry management scale. By 2009, the innovation of collective forest ownership system had been achieved in collective-owned forests of the South of China; therefore, the development of forestry there tends to mature. Thus, studying the forestry farmers'willing of managing scale in collective-owned forests of the South of China is of great importance to adjusting the related policies in the South of China and developing the forestry management scale of other regions in China. This thesis is based on the data collected from the field investigation of local farmers in collective-owned forests of the South of China in the following projects the collective forest right system reform system, which was held by the National Forestry Bureau during July—August, 2010. The main areas in the exploration are experimental provinces in the collective forest right system reform system in South China: Zhejiang, Fujian and Jiangxi provinces. The sample counties are Deqing County and Suichang County in Zhejiang Province, Shunchang County and Shaxian County in Fujian Province and Suichuan County and Tonggu County in Jiangxi Province. With the past related literature, this thesis concludes the factors in influencing the forestry farmers'willing to enlarge the managing scale of forestry, and classify them into five functions according to the characteristics of variables: 1) the characteristic of the head of a farmer household; 2) the characteristic of forestry farmer family; 3) the characteristic of forestry farmers'production and management; 4) the characteristic of the exterior market policies; 5) the characteristic of the innovation of collective forest ownership policies. Moreover, the thesis includes them into function theory molds, being enlarging management willing=f (interior factor variable, exterior factor variable) =f (the variable of the characteristic of the head of a farmer household, the variable of the characteristic of forestry farmer family, the variable of the characteristic of forestry farmers'production and management, the variable of the characteristic of the exterior market policies, the variable of the characteristic of the innovation of collective forest ownership policies+ random disturbance term. With the help of SPSS Software, and using Backward(Conditional) in Binary Logistic Regression, this thesis selects the variables and eliminates the arguments that are not obviously influenced by the variables, and concludes the apparent factors in influencing the forestry farmers'willing to enlarge the managing scale of forestry, based on which, the thesis finally suggests ways of developing forestry moderate scale management and increasing the forestry farmers'motivation in enlarging forestry management scale. There are 6 parts in this thesis:Part 1: Introduction. Based on the literature review, this part states the strain of thought, methodology and originality of the thesis.Part 2: The connotation and theoretical foundation of the related concepts of forestry farmers'enlarging management scale behaviors. This part explains the related concepts of the connotation of forestry farmers'enlarging management scale behaviors. It also introduces the related theories and forestry scale management, especially the relations in developing forestry moderate scale management.Part 3: The hypothesis of forestry production behavior and the influencing factors on forestry farmers'enlarging managing scale. According to the related theories on"rational person"in Neo-classical Economics, this part puts forward the hypothesis on forestry farmers'behavior on forestry production and management. This part also defines the three factors influencing forestry farmers'enlarging managing scale: cost, benefit and restriction, according to which, the factors influencing forestry farmers'willingness to enlarge their managing scale are concluded. The factors fall into five variables according to the characteristics of variable: 1) the characteristic of the head of a farmer household; 2) the characteristic of forestry farmer family; 3) the characteristic of forestry farmers'production and management; 4) the characteristic of the exterior market policies; 5) the characteristic of the innovation of collective forest ownership policies. This part also clearly defines the contents and connotation of these five variables.Part 4: Building analysis moulds. This part explains the choosing, characteristics and definitions of variables, based on which, the chosen Logistic Mould are introduced, and the reason why this mould is chosen is also stated. This part refers that there are only two kinds of willing nesses in forestry farmers'enlarging managing scale: willing or unwilling, thus, what this thesis uses is Binary Logistic Regression.Part 5: Case studies on factors influencing forestry farmers'willingness to enlarge managing scale under the innovation of collective forest ownership: examples from the collective-owned forest regions in South China. This part first introduces where the research data comes from, based on which, the mould estimation and the analysis on statistics examination result is done. Thus the following conclusions are drawn: 1) The 11 response factors influencing forestry farmers'willingness to enlarge managing scale are: the education background of the head of a farmer household, the non-agricultural income of the head of a farmer household, the distance between the home and the forest region, whether knowing the policy on the compensation of forestry ecology benefit, the square measure of timberland management, pieces of timberland, the square measure of public welfare forest lands, whether having financing service, whether having agency service and the influence of the subvention on the motivation of afforestation, whether the innovation of collective forest ownership brings benefit to forestry families. 2) The affect of forestry farmers'willingness to enlarge managing scale is the result of the above stated 11 factors and the local economy, and especially development of forestry. 3) The 11 factors are arranged according to the order of importance .The order shows that the prominent factors that influence forestry farmers'willingness to enlarge managing scale are the related information service and economy.Part 6: Conclusion and suggested solutions. This part concludes the thesis, and suggests policies on forestry farmers'motivation to enlarge managing scale and developing forestry moderate scale management, with the hope that it can be a reference to the related departments'drafting policies.
