| The coastal economic zones played a significant role in the process of economic development of United States, Japan, and China. Although the processes of economic development of coastal economic zones may vary in different countries, there are still some important similarities. Since that there are some important differences in social environment, natural endowments, political structure, and framework of market among United States, Japan, and China, the impact and behavior of government are different. This paper gives an analysis on the development process of coastal economic zones and how the government affects this process.This paper presents a description of the development processes of coastal economic zones in these countries, analysis on the development tracks in different stages, and the influences of social environment, technology and other factors. We can figure out the similarities and differences in the economic rules. That can help us understand those factors which contribute to economic development. Secondly, with help of the framework of institutional economics, this paper give a comparative analysis on the role played by government in affecting production function, thereby affecting economic development. |
