Detection and location of the pipeline leak has always been aninternational problem. In recent years, people have paid more and moreattention to the problem. With the processing of various techniquesbrought forth, pipeline leak monitoring technology is achieving moreand more progress. However, methods to keep the monitoring systemruning more reliable in complex environment is the most concerned andurgent problem currently.In this paper, three methods to improve the reliability of pipelineleak monitoring system are presented, including program structure, faultdiagnosis and accurate location.Firstly, multi-process framework and asynchronous notificationtechnique are adopted in the RTU terminal program structure. Theproblem of real time data acquisition limited by database are solved withthe multi-process framework and asynchronous notification technique,real time data acquisition and accurate GPS timing are promised.Secondly, accurate location method for pipeline leak based oninterfering signals match filtering. The proposed method is aimming ataccurate location of pipeline leak under complex condition, it can reduce false alarming and eliminate fail alarming. It also improves thereliability of the loacation, guarantees the pipeline transportationworking safely and effectively.Finally, the programming of pipeline leak monitoring system andfault diagnosis function are introduced. The program contains networkcommunication dynamic expanding module, database dynamicexpanding module and wave drawing dynamic expanding module. Thediagnosis of GPS module, data acquisition module, transducer moduleand network communication module are highlighted respectively. Thediagnosis almost covers the information that affects the system's stability,which is the feedback of the system running condition. Experimentalresults show that diagnostic function of pipeline leak monitoring systemguarantees the stable and reliable operation of the system.
