Conformal antenna is widely used in satellite communications, radar, weapons and missile telemetry, because it is easy to be conformal with the carrier and has small impact on the carrier's aerodynamic performance. Taking the radio detector as the application background, conformal omnidirectional antenna is studied in this paper. The main contents are as follows. The microstrip line is used as the absorbed load in designing the traveling arrays, which reduces the design difficulty effectively. The quasi-traveling wave linear antenna arrays working at 32GHz are designed using the method proposed here. The simulated results show that the bandwidth and the gain of the array are 9.4% and 13.26dB respectively.Taylor arrays are designed to reduce the side lobes of the antenna. Much design convenience is achieved by changing the feed point of the traditional Taylor antenna arrays. The new Taylor array antennas can meet the requirements of the side lobe and radiation direction. The Taylor arrays working at 32GHz are designed. The simulated results show that the main lobe shift 32°from the broadside direction while the bandwidth reaches 16.69%, the side lobe level reaches-17.26dB and the gain reaches 12.91dB.A cylindrical antenna is designed to achieve omnidirectional radiation. The simulated result shows that the maximum gain difference is 2.1 dB which can better realize omnidirectional radiation. Microstrip power divider feeding network is designed to feed the conformal antenna arrays. The testing results show that the relative bandwidth and the gain of conformal antenna arrays are 23.4% and 6.2 dB respectively.
