The study of this paper will discuss around the numbering and addressing problem in the internet of things. This paper defined the lightweight numbering and addressing model based on the research of the numbering and addressing features in internet of things. Combined the particularity of sensitive node, this paper discuss a numbering and addressing technology based on lightweight IPv6, and numbering and addressing the node of internet of things in a unified way. The numbering and addressing of internet of things is one of the core generic technologies in this domain which has important theoretical value and actual significance.In order to build a uniform model of numbering and addressing in internet of things, this paper made a thorough study in numbering and addressing features of resources in internet of things. This paper analyzed the numbering method may use in the internet of things, and define the way for numbering and addressing. Based on the analysis of numbering and addressing features, this paper carry out the lightweight numbering and addressing model of internet of things. By the analysis of the sensation layer and the network layer based on the model architecture, the paper gives the expansibility analyze and the compatibility way for other numbering method.Based on the lightweight numbering and addressing model of internet of things, this paper choose IPv6 for the chief numbering and addressing method. Combined the sensation layer features and 6LoWPAN, the paper studied the lightweight IPv6 technology, include header compression, fragmentation and reassembly, addressing procedure.We implement the lightweight IPv6 based prototype system which is the core of the lightweight numbering and addressing model of internet of things, then prove the correctness of the prototype system by analyze the simulation data. This prototype system is an attempt to use IPv6 for numbering and addressing in internet of things, realizes the IPv6 data transferring in IEEE802.15.4, which is both meaningful and valuable.
