Boundary Load Switch Monitoring System is a real-time system for 10 kV overhead transmission lines, which is effective tools and methods for the power supply to monitor the real state of lines, reduce the power failure accidents and shrink the outage time and area. Designing and developing the test platform of the Boundary Load Switch Monitoring System not only provides the necessary tools t o ensure the quality of monitoring system, but also provides the necessary underlay supporting environment for the development of the system.In the development process of Boundary Load Switch Monitoring System, the first problem to be solved is to ensure that the GPRS/Internet communication reliability and instantaneity. The Boundary load switches distribute along lines widely, switch controllers use GPRS technology to interact information with the upper monitor software. Therefore, to the monitoring system, it is very important to ensure the reliability and real-time of the GPRS/Internet communication.Secondly, ensure the correctness of the Communication Protocol Of Boundary Load Switch Monitoring System. The Communication Protocol of Boundary Load Switch Monitoring System defines the interactive behavior between the monitoring system software and the switch controllers. The key to realize the monitoring system is realizing the protocol correctly by the monitoring software or switch controllers.A software testing platform is designed and developed for the two problems. The platform is composed of two testing subsystems. One is used for testing the class library TaskQueue.DLL which is the core of Forward Center relating to GRRS/Internet communication. The other one is used for testing the protocols between upper software and switch devices in field, which is also the essential environment for system development. Finally, the detail-design and testing results are presented in this paper.
