The piezoelectric tuning fork is widely used in industries, it is playing an important role in the process control of material level of metallurgy, building materials, chemical, light industry, grain and so on, its frequency acts as a key parameter measures whether the piezoelectric tuning fork meets the engineering requirement, determines the application of the piezoelectric tuning fork. In order to get higher efficiency and higher precision of frequency, the thesis takes tuning fork level meter instrument as the test object, which is commonly used in industry, designs a piezoelectric tuning fork frequency characteristic testing system based on ARM9.At first, this thesis introduced traditional detection methods of piezoelectric tuning fork frequency characteristic, analyzed their advantages and disadvantages, and proposed an idea of piezoelectric tuning fork frequency characteristic detection method which is based on ARM embedded system. We can be clear about the development process of system and design content through analyze the function and structure of the tuning fork frequency characteristic detection method, then the thesis analyzed how the testing system responds to the structure of tuning fork, and selected piezoelectric type according to the system requirement.The first design step of the testing system is the design of detection circuit system, it realized the capture, conversion, amplification and filter of signal, then designed the piezoelectric ceramic driving electric circuits, finished hardware preparation. The thesis chose S3C2410A as ARM embedded processor, matched by the embedded operating system WinCE 5.0 development program, the testing system exert the high performance of ARM embedded processor and the high efficiency and scalability of WinCE 5.0. According to the multiplicity of the structure and the material, some user application programs have developed through EVC++4.0, the user can control the testing and driving circuits by HMI, these can met the various requirements. Considered the quantity scale is huge, developed application program to realize the TCP communication between ARM development board and PC and saved the tested datum in PC one by one, then it will help to analysis and query. In the concrete design, the thesis elaborated separately from hardware and software to realize the function of testing system. For testing system steady operation, this thesis also makes some related discussion aimed at system reliable measure.At last, the piezoelectric tuning fork frequency characteristic testing system has applied to test experiment, and analyzed the test result and the question appeared in the process, and then summarized the topic research result; forecast the further research work content.The character of this thesis is not only combined the piezoelectric tuning fork frequency characteristic testing system and the embedded technology but also designed one kind of intellectualization, adaptability and high efficiency piezoelectric tuning fork natural frequency testing system. Practical application shows that the system can reach anticipative functions, it will lay the foundations for the future.
