LTE (Long Term Evolution) is one of the major standards for the next generationbroadband mobile communication technologies, and comparing to the current3Gtechnologies, LTE is able to provide much higher transimission rate and loweroperation cost with the higher spectrum efficiency and simplier network structure. In this paper, the downlink processing algorithms and key technologies has beenstudied intensively, and the processing flow for transport and physical channel as wellas the generation of physical signal has been concluded. The physical layer processingfor LTE downlink consists of transport channel processing and physical channelprocessing, and transport channel does channel coding and rate match according tothe transport format given from higher layer, and physical channel performsscrambling, modulation, layer mapping, precoding, resource block mapping and IFFTin sequence to the bit stream out from transport channel.Based on the above work, the logic implementation of PDCCH, PBCH andPCFICH in LTE downlink has been studied, and the functionalities of these3channels in different system bandwidth have been realized in the one image withflexible configuration and optimized architecture. The code has been verified onModelSim for functional simulation and been tested on the Xilinx FPGA EVM boardwith expected result, and the optimized architecture save a little resource based on thesynthesis result.
