The router which based on Forwarding and Control Element Separation (ForCES Router) could provide better service for the new generation high assurance network. In order to further improve the communication performance of ForCES router, this paper made an in-depth study on flow model of ForCES routing system and channel flow control technology.This paper studied the framework of ForCES router, the software and hardware structure, and some measurement methods in the current network traffic study, modeling method, main network traffic model, and traffic matrix estimation algorithm.Then this paper studied the flow characteristics of control protocol messages, event protocol messages, and redirect protocol messages in ForCES router, analyzed ForCES messages on a link before and after construction chain of (control element) CE and forwarding element (FE), to build flow model for each message source according to the flow characteristics. Finally, this paper made a deep study on the channel flow control mechanism in ForCES router. When one CE connected multiple FEs, the message flows of multiple FE channels converged to total link which would cause congestion, resulting that the messages of each FE couldn't reach CE effectively. So this paper put forward Prediction of Traffic Matrix based Flow Control and Configuration algorithm, and took a test and analysis with NS2network simulation software for the algorithm, showed that PTMFCC algorithm could improve the data transmission performance of the whole ForCES routing system while avoiding congestion.
