Ssl Protocol Used In The Web Conferencing System Improvement And Research

With the demand of netmeeting system being growing up, it is important to seek a way, through which the system can be developed quickly. However, there is no secure safeguard in the system, which is set up by Netmeeting SDK. Meanwhile, Secure Socket Layer protocol (SSL), which was provide by Netscape, is not designed for Netmeeting, even if it is popular in network security.According to the demand about security in the netmeeting, SSL's modification is necessary. Architecture design,protocol design and deployment design are involved in the solution. Finally, a secure data channel is built.The key of the solution is to achieves the goals of client authentication with X.509 certificate, key exchange with symmetrical key, key creation with Elliptic curve crypto algorithm, information encryption with symmetrical key and integration insurance with Hash algorithm. Then the solution is applied to netmeeting system based on NetMeeting SDK.Implementation process and method of protocol is described clearly in logical and several problems, such as Request message's function, shakehand sequence's order and when to send the first shakehand message in client, are brought forward to pay attention.This project improved Secure Socket Layer protocol as follow: Simplify the Shakehands' process; Setup SSL on T.120 protocol, which support netmeeting; Create premaster secret with Elliptic curve crypto (ECC).
