Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) is produced and developed in order to solve the increasingly serious traffic problems, and the Vehicle networking is one of the focus research fields. Vehicle networking is developed on the basis of the intelligent transportation andwireless sensor networks, its in-depth study is conducive to resolving the traffic congestion and many other traffic problems.Whether the ITS, or vehicle networking, intelligent vehicles are an indispensable and integral part. Therefore, it has great significance to do some depth study on ntelligent vehicle.It is difficult to achieve because of the high cost of using the actual vehicle in manpower, time and resources. So here design an intelligent vehicle, and use it to replace the actual intelligent vehicle to research vehicle tracking system. This intelligent vehicle is drived by two DC motor, used TI Cotex-M3 core ARM processor-LM3S1968 as the main chip.The main work is to design hardware systems and software programs of the intelligent vehicle, and to do the tracking system experiment in the simulation platform.The hardware system design including the mechanical structure design, circuit design of each module and PCB design. Circuit design mostly including:power module design, theinfrared sensor module design, gyroscope module design, DC motor drive module design, and wireless communication module design.The System software design including the bottom subroutine design of the module function and top-level program design of the system features.The bottom driver program to achieve the stable operation of each module of the intelligent vehicle. On this basis, the top-level program to achieve intelligent features of the intelligent vehicle such as the autonomous navigation and to distinguish thedirection and memory information.After designing hardware and software of the intelligent vehicle, set up a simulated road platform, and research intelligent vehicle tracking system on this platform.The results show that the intelligent vehicle operates smooth, and the wireless communicates well between the two vehicles. The tracking vehicle is able to track the target vehicle based on the information received. The system achieves the desired functionality and achieves good results.The intelligent vehicle designed in this paper and the simulated road platform structured can be used as the simulation platform to research the related issues of vehicle networking and intelligent vehicle, which has great practical value.
