In this paper, based on the engineering drawing features, using the MATLAB image processing module function, extracted the image edge data which were thinned, by analyzing the traditional vectoring methods. Then, used the separate layer method vectored the lines, and the entirety method vectored the arc and circle, in order to get the data of the picture. At the last, draw the graph using AutoCAD software, which can achieve the objective of image vectoring and completed the vector operation; Firstly, on the basis of the character of three-view drawing, the three-view drawing is re-divided and re-positioning to search the minimum closed-loop in each area seriatim. Secondly, the minimum closed-loops in these three areas are matched by each other based on the theory of "three same" principles. The closed-loops which were matched successfully rebuild the basic model. Thirdly, the complicated solid is divided to several elementary solids based on the theory of dividing and combination, and then these simple solids are assembled to a integrate solid by Boolean operation. Furthermore, the algorithm is designed based on the 3D model to accomplish the translation from 3D parts to 2D drawing automatically. Finally, combining the Visual Basic 6.0, MATLAB and AutoCAD, we develop the system to achieve the function of inputting, preprocessing, vectoring,3D rebuilding and translating 3D solid model to 2D drawing.
