| With the increasing number of prisoners, it becomes more and more difficult to accurately locate and identify a prisoner. Therefore, it becomes an urgent problem to utilize advanced technologies to solve the problem and alleviate policemen's workloads and improve management efficiency.This paper studies, designs and implements an intelligent prisoner management system, which is based on RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) and J2EE (Java 2 Enterprise Edition) application platform. On the basis of a detailed survey and analysis of business requirement, targeting at problems existing in prison management, we decided that the system design goal is to accurately and timely monitor and control prisoners, to improve management efficiency and make sure all prisoners can be uniquely identified without mistakes.After a thorough study of the architecture and theory of RFID and J2EE architecture, this paper utilize JAVA and Struts technologies to design and implements the intelligent prisoner management system, which is based on the RFID and J2EE architecture. Based on our platform, a monitor management system can be established from policeman to prisoner.This platform fully utilizes XML's advantages in data formatting and standardization and J2EE's seamless integration with heterogeneous platforms, and implements a highly autonomous, secure, and manageable data integrated application based on RFID.The system we studied in this paper can timely and accurately identify whether a person shows up in the appropriate location in any given time. It can also be integrated with facial identification system, access control system, and closed circuit television system to provide modern technologies for efficient prison management. The system development can realize secure and reliable distinguishing between prisoners and administrators and mapping system information to real identities, so that it realizes prison information management, stepping into the right track of "asking for police power from technologies".The system is implemented via Eclipse3.2 IDE and based on Java, JSP, XML technologies. Oracle 9i is used as database, Tomcat as Web server, Microsoft Visual SourceSafe 6.0 as version control tool.The system has already been successfully deployed on Hangzhou Linan prison, and run for its daily management. Its application fully meets the customer's requirement and expectation, which takes a lead in national-wide prison management. |
