In recent years, with the rapid development of Internet and digital multimedia technology, such as digital images, digital video, the problems of digital information suffering from theft, tampering, illegal copying and dissemination become more and more serious, which have become the obstacle of health and sustainable development of information security. As an important means of information security, information hiding has become an important research topic in terms of information hiding.In this paper, the first two chapters give the development, research status, basic theory, attack methods, and performance evaluation of information hiding. Secondly we introduce the basic theory, attack methods and the performance evaluation methods of the image information hiding technology. At last, we propose one image information hiding schemes which based on the combination of spatial and transform domain though the inductive analysis and simulation results of the main algorithm analysis of the spatial and transform domain of the image information hiding technique, and after the summary of the advantages and disadvantages of the spatial and transform domain, that is the algorithm of combination of the LSB (the most significant bit) and the DWT (the discrete wavelet transform), the method takes the features of the large embedding of the LSB and the strong robust of the DWT, Firstly after the discrete wavelet transform, the integer part of the wavelet coefficients is transformed the eight binary, and then the secret information is embedded in the principle peak (in addition to the highest bit) which based on the LSB algorithm, then a new wavelet coefficients is produced which combined the integer part and fractional part, then the secret information is embedded in the new wavelet coefficients until the completion of the secret information is embedded.For the proposed image information hiding methods, we take Matlab as the platform to conduct many tests, and take the performance analysis on the experimental data. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that information hiding which based on image histogram statistical properties have good invisibility, which can avoid attacks. Besides, The proposed methods which combine the spatial and transform domain(LSB-DWT) make full use of the properties of the large embedding of spatial domain and the strong robust of transform domain, which achieve the balance of the embedding capacity and robustness, and lays the foundation of further research.
