Optics fiber Mach-Zehnder(MZ) interferometry sensor, based on dual-beam interference principle, can be used to accurately measure the strain, temperature, acceleration etc. In this article, we present a novel optics fiber Mach-Zehnder(MZ) interferometry sensor by the electrical arc method. The effect of different cavity length to interference pattern and sensitivity of system is analyzed. We optimized the splicing parameter to obtain the maximum extinction ratio. The response to temperature and strain is tested, and the results showed that the sensor is not sensitive to the temperature, and its strain sensitivity can reach-3.02pm/με.ChapterⅠI introduces the optics fiber Mach-Zehnder(MZ) interferometry sensor and its application, and then demonstrates the significant and goal of the research.ChapterⅡmainly introduces the transmission properties of single-mode fiber and photonic crystal fiber, and analyzes the optical interference principle in optical fiber. And then introduces each kind of the interferometric fiber optic sensors. At last, we demonstrate the theory of mode interference and introduce the principle and fabricate methods of optics fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometric sensor based on the theory of mode interference.ChapterⅢmainly introduces the optics fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometric sensor which is fabricated by photonics crystal fiber and based on the theory of mode interference. In the experiment, the method of fusion splicing is used to realize the splicing between a single-mode fiber and a photonics crystal fiber with a big overlap, and then an enlarged waist is formed. And an optics fiber Mach-Zehnder(MZ) interferometry based on the theory of mode interference is fabricated by cascading two enlarged waist proposed.Chapter IV designs the experiment of the response to strain, temperature and bending of the optics fiber Mach-Zehnder(MZ) interferometry. In this chapter, we introduce the experimental equipments in detail and experimental procedure. At last the results is analyzed. Chapter V reviews of the full paper. And then, according to research reported in this paper, some ideas of the future research work is offered.
