With the development of information technology and educational reform, the traditionalidea and form of teaching are no longer suitable for the trend. It is vital that the course of Computer Literacy apply the computer-basedtestingsystem.In this article, an online testing system is designed to enable the students to adapt topaperlessexamination.Themainproceduresareasfollows:1. Using MS SQL Server 2005, an open system is designed to make it suitable forteacherstoaddandremovequestionsinthedatabasesoastopromotetheexpandability.2. B/S mode is applied for the security and justification of the procedure of examination.Using ActiveX programming, a monitoring system is designed to record the candidates'informationandmonitortheentireexaminationprocess.3. Thefunctionofmockexaminationis addedtothe system tofit the feature ofautomaticlearningindistanceeducation.4. An improved genetic algorithm is applied in automatic test paper generation to balancethedegreeofdifficultyandthedistributionofknowledgepoints.5. For justification of examination results, Office controls are added in the VisualStudio.NET 2008 program, retrieving the objects and property of Office documents. ActiveXcomponentofofficeisappliedtoimplementautomaticscoring.In summary, the design of the system is reasonable and practical and can be extended toothercourses.
