As a result of the evolution of internet, internet is becoming one of the most important ways that people exchange and transport multimedia messages and information, more and more people are using it and more and more messages are exchanged by it. It makes our daily life become more and more convenient, however, meanwhile more and more pirate products are found, it aggravates copyright infringement. To make it safe to transport messages on internet, watermark technology comes up.First, this paper describes what watermark technology is and how it comes up, sums up and analyzes the history, characteristics, main framework, classic algorithm, attack methods and performance evaluation. Then, it gives a general knowledge of Wavelet Transform, including history, characteristics and theoretical foundation, and makes a deep study on 1-D,2-D Continuous Wavelet Transform and 1-D,2-D Discrete Wavelet Transform. After that, it works on the characteristics of HVS(Human Visual System) and JND(Just Noticeable Difference), and makes an improvement on JND, provides a new digital watermark algorithm based on human visual system and IDEA(International Data Encryption Algorithm) encryption algorithm according to the comparation of different encryption algorithm, it avoids the defects of Arnold, meanwhile, it makes the watermark information more safe and easy transmission. Then, it provides simulation on watermark algorithm and the new algorithm. At last, it summarizes the applications on water mark.
