Pattern program is the foundation of embroidering by computerized embroidery machine, the programs are produced by Specialty Software and implemented embroidery machine. However, current machines do not provide the specialty software, pattern programs could only be achieved from internet, which limit the development of embroideries. Therefore, this essay set up an algorithm for format conversion, which could convert JPG files into pattern programs which could be identified by the machines, so that, the aim of embroidery-able as photo-able could be achieved, and utilization will also be expanded.The essay focus on the research of Contour extraction of object file and needle filling, the main work content including:(1) The research on technology for contour extraction of object file.A technology of contour extraction is proposed in this paper which is specific used for pattern file format conversion of embroidery, the colorful image will be sub-blocked by different colors and designed several structure elements, then combined with Color images morphology theory algorithm to extract contour information. Compared with general Contour extraction algorithm, the algorithm in this paper could be proved as a better method to combine algorithm and embroidering, and the desired objective has been achieved.(2) The research on technology for needle filling.Pixel information of all structure areas could be achieved through contour extraction mentioned in last section. Combined with the pixel information, contour area charts would be acquired by simulated system. Two filling methods mentioned in this paper: scanning line filling and seed filling. And scanning line filling is proved better than other one by contras test. In this paper, the relationship between needle tracking and pixel pots has been analyzed combine with scanning line filling, and design sketches have been given. (3) The research on operation of file format conversion.The storage method of JPG documents has been analyzed in the paper, acquiring bitmap files by decoding. Information of bitmap files and storage structure has also been analyzed. Meanwhile, design methods of pattern needle tracking has been studied, remainder dispersion has been used to guarantee the accuracy of pattern data. The required structure parameters, which worked out from bitmap information, are arrayed according to storage method of pattern file, by this way final pattern files would be achieved. This method has been proved feasible and correct through comparing with internal structure of other pattern files.
