The purpose of weak signal detection is to extract useful signal from noise, or use some new technologies and new ways to improve the output signal to noise ratio of the detection system. In this paper, theories of the weak signal detection in common use are briefly analyzed, and the wavelet transform principle is studied in detail. Then the software and hardware design of the weak signal detection system is discussed, based on the whole design idea expounded in the thesis, the structure and performance of the chips adopted in the system are described in brief. This design selects a 14-bit resolution A/D converter with 4-way parallel as the ADC, and selects the FPGA logic device of Xilinx's Spartan-3 as a controller to control every functional module of the system. At the same time, the FIFO is designed by using the FPGA. Make full use of system resources, a reduction of the external circuit, and the plate for circuit debugging brought great convenience. And the system also helped improve the acquisition speed and integration. The software design of this system uses Verilog HDL language, and completes the compilation and synthesis in the Xilinx ISE software development platform, and use ModelSim SE 6.0 to complete the simulation.
