Data storage strategy is the important research filed of data management and processing of Wireless Sensor Networks.The essence of data storage is how to store the sensing data to a certain place by limited storage space and limited node energy. Since the wireless sensor nodes collecting data continuously,and some of its specific applications determine that it is not convenient to recharge or replace battery.Therefore, the study of data storage strategy to reduce energy consumption and prolong network life cycle was particular important.Based on the analysis and study of the data storage strategy in wireless sensor networks, this paper presents a distributed data storage method based on composite threshlod to reduce energy consumption of sensor nodes and prolong the life cycle of whole networks.(1)Based on the problems existing in data storage methods, such as the common network load unbalancing and storage hot load,we present a concept of the compositing threshold which is applied to the data storage methods. First, the entire perception region was divided into two-dimensional grid,and each grid is corresponding to a event type.Second,the compositing threshold is composed of energy threshold and storage space threshold.(2) Put forward a scheduling factor p based on compositing threshlod, which determined by its storage space and residual energy. As the scheduling factor p changes, sensor node switching the state between suspended state and active state,which can turn off the redundant node and reduce unnecessary energy consumption.(3) The technique that expanding one grid into a virtual grid that is composed several grids has two advantages. One is that since the data storage nodes are not fixed, it can realize dynamic data storage. The second is that the amount of sensing data to be stored is maximized and the valid data will not be lost because of the expansion of the limited storage space.Finally, multi group analysis of simulate experiments results show that compared to other data storage method the distributed data storage method based on compositing threshold have obviously advantages on the sides of overall energy consumption data storage capacity,Standard deviation of storage space,the number of failure node and data quality,thus have a significant effect on reducing energy consumption and extending network life cycle.
