With the development of instrumentation technology and network technology, the integration of distributed instrumentation system was urgent needed to realize instruments resource sharing and comprehensive test. Different types of instruments in the existing distributed instrumentation systems coexist, instrument interface type, access standard, communication protocol of different manufacturers were different, and system integration is conditioned by heterogeneous instruments and programming language. It is hard to realize the communication, interoperability and integration between distributed instruments and heterogeneous instruments. Therefore, the research of distributed instrumentation system integration method has significant theoretical significance and application value.Based on Object Oriented Technology, distributed instrumentation system was in detail analyzed and designed, based on this combined with distributed instrumentation system integration principle and system structure model, a distributed instrumentation system integration method based on XML-RPC was proposed, and the system architecture of distributed instrumentation system based on XML-RPC was designed. XML-based description of the heterogeneous instruments was adopted, the instrument information model was constructed, and data access interface of uniformly instrument management was designed; the programming language of LabVIEW was adopted to design and realize the Server and Client based on XML-RPC and the remote control of distributed instrumentation system. On this basis, this method was applied to the fermentation laboratory; the biology fermentation laboratory distributed instrumentation system was integrated.The experiment show that biology fermentation laboratory distributed instrumentation system was integrated by using distributed instrumentation system integration method based on XML-RPC, the distributed instrumentation communication, interoperability and uniformly management were realized, the utilization rate of instrument was improved, distributed instrumentation system based on XML-RPC has good openness, operability, expansibility etc, and it provides a new way for resource sharing for system bottom heterogeneous instrumentation and remote control from bottom heterogeneous instrument level to top application level.
