Currently, all kinds of digital medical data increase rapidly, along with the development of computer and medical imaging technology. It has become an urgent need to find the way to get certain medical image from the vast medical resource effectively, assisting medical diagnosis, teaching and scientific research.First of all, combined with the demand of actual application and scientific, this thesis analyses the requirements of medical image retrieval client system from the standpoint of medical resource retrieval and proposes system design goal on the basis of this. Then, this thesis designs the system's architecture and function modules with the thoughts of modularity and hierarchy to ensure the good extensibility, reusablity and maintainability of the system. At last, the thesis realizes the system's framework and core operation modules, including MRAP operation message access interface, Web Service access interface, and structed info based image retrieval module, content-based image retrieval module, text-based image retrieval module, medical resource downloading module and GUI interface module. The system reslizes multi methods of image information (including structed info, content info and diagnosis info) based image retrieval. At the same time, the system implements medcial mage retrieval based on Web Service for cross-domain resources retrieval and remote data access. The medical image retrieval client system designed and completed by the thesis not only ensures the fast and accurate retrieval of medical image for user, but also facilitates the sharing of medical resource and assistes medical diagnosis, teaching and scientific research. At present, this system has been run in research interal. Its validity and practicability is proved.
