With the fast development of network communication technologies, the expansion of network scale and also with the increase of complexity, how to manage such complex network visually is becoming a more and more urgent task for administers. Visual management can be divided into two formats, one is list displaying where the device information would be displayed in list format, and the other one is graph display where network topology graph would be adopted to reflect topology information and the working situation of network element, link element. The device which has alarmed would be easily located if some exceptions occurred. This thesis aimed to implement network topology system on the basis of detecting topology information file automatically by combining SVG and web2.0 technology, which enables the trace of network running situation visually and can avoid the time-consuming location for error. The system can display the information of network devices, the relationship between them, device properties and so on, which can provide a real-time, dynamic and clear topology graph that can reflect the survival of overall of partial network devices. From the point of network administrators'view, this thesis discussed how to increase interactive methods on the basis of SVG technology, improve the automatic level for enterprise by obtaining overall physical layout, real-time display on server and client sides using pushlet technology and methods of keeping agreed of the data between server and client sides. This thesis is based on the module of detecting topology automatically, SVG technology is used to implement topology graph display module which also adopts push technology to alarm in real time. Plus, DWR is used to communicate between client and server sides and remote objects are invoked for client sides to transfer the specified data. In the process of research and implementation, the understanding for software engineer has been deepened.
