Development Of Construction Steel Processing And Distribution Management System

As a labor-intensive processing method, manual-processing rebar on site has some deficiency as followed: difficulties in quality control, lack of efficiency, higher waste rate of material and energy, and the working progress is difficult to manage. By integrating of the rebar production and processing chain, the sales link between segments could been decreased, and the cost could be minimized by batch purchasing as well; meanwhile, some unnecessary expenses such as equipments, labor, energy and management could be removed from the budget by cutting off the rebar on-site processing. On the other hand, with centralized production, advanced equipments and experienced personnel, the efficiency and quality of rebar production could be highly increased and the cost could be decreased.The rebar processing and managing system presented in this paper deals with some basic details in rebar production and processing such as work site, contract, purchase and warehouse management to research and develop the steel processing management system by adopting bar code technology, wireless Wifi Networking technology, Two-dimensional PDA scanner, establishment of rebar spectrum database, and computer software systems technologies. System core function production management module can manage each project and site for a full range; can split the rebar in each building, floor and component automatically in building operations, displayed graphically to the operator. Especially for the extension of reinforcement deformation during bending algorithm estimate, it automatically calculates the length and weight of steel blanking, greatly reducing the waste of steel raw materials. Production planning management system rationally allocates production planning orders, prints rebar graphical material license, and guides production for the production team, automatically based on contract manufacturing delivery schedules of steel processing business, construction progress, logistics and distribution conditions, team production capacity, equipment load, repeatability of production efficiency and other factors. Production workers paste material license after production according to production planning. Warehousemen scan a license of finished steel components for production material license by wireless PDA barcode scanner. When steel logistics distributes to the site, the rebar is scanned by wireless PDA barcode scanner and dispatched. Production managers and customers can observe real-time steel production, and can adjust to production plans and construction plans through statistical systems.By following the working procedures in this construction rebar processing and managing system, the rebar workshops and factories could be running in an advanced, automatically and error-free working, substantially saving steel processing and production costs and achieving higher customer satisfaction.
