TD-SCDMA And WLAN Network Convergence Technology Research

With the development of mobile internet,it becomes possible to access the internet anytime and anywhere.And mobile users have been paying more attention to the speed of internet.Indeed,TD-SCDMA initially satisties the users' needs;however,it shows some shortcomings as well,such as not supporting large number of people using simultaneously,and not allowing the application in the hotspot.This imposed much more burden to China Mobile,who hopes to find a new tech to compete with WCDMA and CDMA2000.Under this circumstance,to apply the converged network mixing TD-SCDMA with WLAN could be the first option to China Mobile.TD-SCDMA can meet high communication quality,seamless roaming requirement,it features mature voice service,good roaming,handover,perfect AAA functions.But it is still difficult to fully satisfy users' need for 10Mbit/s or even more high-speed multimedia service demand.While,WLAN can provide up to 11Mbit/s prak data rate transmission,also can support mobility and multimedia services. So TD-SCDMA and WLAN network convergence will be able to provide high-quality mobile voice service,also will let users enjoy high speed data multimedia service.Therefore,TD-SCDMA and WLAN network convergence will be effcient and effective.The paper firstly explains what is WLAN technology and TD-SCDMA system, then introduces the features of WLAN technology and TD-SCDMA system. Regarding WLAN technology, the paper covers the following topics, including WLAN standards, WLAN structure, security technology etc., while for TD-SCDMA, the paper discusses about its concept, development history, key technology etc., all of which are the theoretical basis for the converged of TD-SCDMA and WLAN network group. According to the actual demands of the project, we plan to lay WLAN network within International Institute of Renmin University of China (Suzhou Academy )at Dushu Lake Higher Education Town, test the performance of WLAN network and analyze the testing result.
