With the high development of computer and network technology recent year, digital image has been used more and more in the reality. And the security and compression has been become the hot research of the technology based on digital image. Fractal is an important branch in nonlinear theory. The application of fractal theory in digital image has been recognized by academia and studied by more and more scholar.This paper is study the image security and compression based on the fractal theory. The main work can be summarized as follows:First, the basic theory of image security and compression is studied. The history and state of the basic knowledge of security and compression are reviewed and studied. And the summary and analysis of combination the fractal and image is given in this paper.Second, in this paper, a new encryption method of image is proposed, which is based on the M set and Hilbert curve. The experimental is also given in this paper. And it shows that, the algorithm is sensitive to the initial value, and the scope of key space is large, and also has a good result.Third, the traditional fractal image coding algorithm is analyzed in this paper. And this paper also summarized the improvement of the algorithm. The time-consuming operations are followed. Based on this idea, a new algorithm based on M-J dictionary is proposed.Last, the dictionary algorithm is improved by BTC coding knowledge. The BTC code is the feature of one block in the dictionary. Experimental is given in the last. From the result, the algorithm is good at coding time and efficiency of image.
