In the present thesis, a research work on Synthetic aperture radar imaging technology and processing is presented, the most effective jamming techniques used against SAR systems are investigated, and a method to mitigate the effectiveness of jammer is proposed. More precisely we are concerned by the design of waveform to cope with the interference in the sidelobes part of the SAR received signal. Such waveform will provide higher system capacity by adopting spectral efficient waveform and also improve system availability by selecting power efficient waveform.Nonlinear frequency modulated waveform (NLFM) is adopted as a solution for the waveform design. To select the most suitable class of NLFM waveforms, TEN popular NLFM functions are studied, and their performances are evaluated and compared.A MATLAB program tool is developed, to perform and to test the suitable waveform proposed for SAR application, by generating simulated raw data source, jammer signals and different SAR algorithms. The SAR imaging Simulation is performed by generating NLFM waveforms, backscattering signals from point and extended target based on supplied radar parameters and environmental data.Simulations result of the proposed NLFM scheme over a jammed received signal show that the proposed NLFM waveform provides higher performance when compared with other waveforms.
