As a theoretical and technical problem, multi-packet transmission in a networked control system catches more and more attentions. Multi-packet transmission bears problems including delay, data packet dropout and disorder, etc. In this paper, Lyapunov method and linear matrix inequality approach are used to solve these problems, by establishing models for networked control systems with multi-packet transmission, and analyzing the stability and design of controllers of such systems. This paper is organized as follows:First, based on networked control linear systems, the network induced delay is assumed to be time-varying and more than one sample period and is viewed as a parameter with uncertainty. Suppose that the data of sensor nodes are transferred with static scheduling strategy. Then the model of the networked control system with multiple packet transmission is established as an uncertain periodic system. Sufficient conditions are obtained for asymptotic stability of networked control systems with multi-packet transmission and long time delay by using appropriate Lyapunov functions and method. A controller design approach is given in terms of linear matrix inequalities. The simulation result in a numerical example shows that the approach is effective and feasible.Second, modeling and stability is studied for a class of networked control systems with multi-packet transmission only between sensors and controllers, and with time delay, data packet dropout and disorder. The disorder problem can be solved by assuming that each datum has a state identifier, introducing a memorizer in the front of controller to store data, and setting a buffer in the memorizer. By applying Lyapunov method, a sufficient condition of asymptotic stability for closed-loop systems is obtained. The simulation result in a numerical example shows that the sufficient condition is effective.
