Moblie Ad Hoc network is a special kind of wireless network, in which point to point communication can be achivevd without relying on access point. It is widely used in the military field and other areas for the reason of flexibility and easy deployment. But its scalability is greatly limited as it exists as a separate autonomous system. Meanwhile, because of the restriction of storage and processing capacity, the application range of single node is limited. So, the interconnection of Mobile Ad Hoc network and Internet become the main development direction.Focused on the multi-path routing protocol, this paper discussed and analyzed the routing methods while interconnecting Mobile Ad Hoc network and Internet. The major contributions of this thesis are listed as followed:1) The paper focuss on the central issuet of the interconnection between MANET and Internet, and summarizes the key technologies and difficulties of it.2) After introduce the layers of OSI and TCP/IP, the details of mobile IP are described separately for IPv4 and IPv6 as the mechanism of the IP system was not suitable for the MANET.3) A new route mechanism is been proposed ,which is named as AOMDV-I ,for the interconnection between MANET and Internet after thoroughly discussed the details of the multipath route.The new mechanism will acquire more than one routes after a search.4) The performance comparison between the AOMDV-I and the AODV was drawed on the plateform of NS2.A logical conclusion has concluded based on the simulation results.
