With the development of computer technology, management information system becomes more popular and universal, and most companies and schools use computer platform to support daily work and people management. Traditional online transaction processing systems don't have the capabilities to support data analysis. A large number of historical data is transferred to the historical database, or direct discarded, so people can't know the hidden rules and information. In recent years, with the growing requirement of data collection and analysis, the technology comes into being.There is much research about multidimensional data collection process, but the study is most focus on commerce, finance and so on. As a non-profit industry, education is always confronting some difficulties, such as lack of funds, technical personnel and the distinction between education and business. Therefore, high cost and complicated measure is not suitable for education. It is obvious that recent data analysis measures and processing details cannot meet the need and data analysis technology is facing some new challenges.In this paper, we do some research about how to conduct multidimensional data collection process based on Model Driven Architecture in education industry. This paper presents a new multidimensional data collection process based on MDA. First of all, establish the multidimensional data model, and the description of model and model constraints is introduced. Secondly, establish the process model. Using models to describe the data extract, transform and load operations, and models are organized using Filter-Pipe architecture. The content and detail information of the model is described using XML, without hard-coded. The entire multidimensional data collection process based on MDA can improve the reusability of the system and reduce the difficulty of use.In this paper, we also discuss the implementation of multidimensional data collection process. First, system framework design is introduced. Then introduce data exchange mechanism, task scheduling problem, filter mechanism, pipe mechanism and exception monitor problem. Finally we introduce the design and implement of prototype system, and list some examples of multidimensional data collection process. The research in this paper not only has theoretical research, but also has great application value and practical significance. Hope that it can provide an effective and common method for education industry.
