The Design And Implementation Of University Library Management System

The library is an organization that aims on providing user reading and referencing service by collecting and arranging various literature and information resources. It is a very important department in universities as retrieving information from library becomes an essential part of teaching and research work. However, with the development of computer network, the traditional library automation management mode need to be reformed with the effect from recent trend of networking. Especially the emergence of the new pattern of digital library makes the requirement of change more and more urgent.This paper analyzed the present situation and deficiency of the domestic and foreign library management system, as well as the development trend of library management system under the informatization of library works. Also according to the university library must adapt to the need of knowledge management, combined with the current development status and the technical level of management system, and the actual situation of library management, I have designed and developmented this library management system. This system according to the content and the characteristics of university library work, it not only have realized the automation and networking of library work, but also provided the reference for the library business monitoring and decision-making through a powerful statistical functions in all directions.The development of the overall system adopts B/S architecture, and the system is divided into basic service layer, data processing layer, business process layer and interfacial layer. At the same time, taking into account the existence of system administrators, library administrators, director, librarians, readers and many other roles, we need a unified user management and authentication.The architecture designing of platform management used the SOA architecture model, with its feature of loose coupling, making the user who can follow a approach of modular to add new services or update the existing services, in order to satisfy the needs of new business, and thus can provide services through different channels, and can use the available or existing application as a service, this also protect the existing investment of IT infrastructure. This system has functions of unified user management, application support management, portal menu settings, unified user authentication and the others. This paper introduced the background of development, the demand of social and the significance of realization, and mainly introduced the requirement analysis and system design. The design part from the goal of realizing and the system analysis, put forward the overall design of the system, and described the design of the system function in detail. Finally, through the comprehensive test about the system, pointed out the deficiencies of the system, and objective assessment of the final results.
